Bandits attack leaves 8 dead, houses razed in Zango Kataf

Eight corpses have been recovered including that of a Catholic Priest and an infant from the continued bandits’ onslaught in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Eyewitnesses account says the attack occurred last night when the attacks started at about 10:30 pm and continued till about 1 am today leaving over a hundred houses razed including an ECWA Church building and pastorium.

The report says many people also received bullets wounds and were conveyed to hospitals in Zankwa the Local Government Headquarters.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the attacks took place in Matyei Village and Abuyab Community of the local government with the bandits also said to have laid ambush between Gorah Gida and Shiliam Communities where 3 people from Gorah Gida were shot, leaving one of the victims dead while the others escaped with gun wounds.

Kaduna State Police Command is yet to issue a statement on the development and calls put to the State Police Public Relationship Officer Muhammed Jalige by our correspondent were not successful.
