The All Progressives Congress APC, Ozzi Ward 7 in Igbo Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State has suspended the governorship candidate of the party in 2019 General elections, Senator Ayogu Eze for anti-party activities.
The letter of the suspension addressed to the chairman of the APC National Caretaker Committee and governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni was signed by the executives of the Ward.
Some of the executive members include Nwokedi Ugwoke, Chairman, Ejike Odo, Vice Chairman, Jonathan Abugu, secretary and Ugwuja Titus, Legal Adviser.
The executives, in the letter which was also copied to the Secretary, APC, Enugu State Chapter and APC Igbo Eze North Local Government Area Secretary explains that the action is to bring to the attention of the party that Senator Ayogu Eze has been working against the growth of the party in his ward.
It explains that Senator Eze has continued to breach the constitution of the party under Article 21(2) by refusing to recognize the elected ward chairman of the party Mr. Nwokedi Ugwoke since his entrant into the party on 13th August 2018 after losing his governorship aspiration under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Supreme Court to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on 16th of July 2018.
The statement adds that Senator Eze had never contributed in any way to the growth and progress of the party and all attempts to bring him to reason failed.
When contacted, Senator Eze declined comment, stating that the Enugu State APC Caretaker Chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye was in appropriate position to respond.
