Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu has stressed the need for communities to consider the maintenance of security a matter of responsibility.
He said they could do that by assisting security agencies with credible information, emphasizing they needed the support of citizens to accomplish the objectives of their deployments.
Governor Atiku made the appeal in Abuja while speaking with State House correspondents after he had separate meetings with President Buhari and the Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.
On his meeting with the President, Governor Bagudu said they discussed security, last week’s bandits’ killing of several people in Kebbi State.
Governor Atiku said that his meeting with the Chief of Staff centred on food security and how to bolster it.
He expressed dismay at how exchange rate had complicated the federal government’s fertilizer initiative, but stated that President Buhari had directed that a way be found to make fertilizer available.
The Governor allayed the fear of a possible food scarcity, saying that a lot had been achieved in the agriculture sector in the last few years in terms of yields per hectare.
