Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has described Women and Youth Export facility, WAYEF scheme, launched by the Nigerian Export-Import Bank in the state as remarkable success.
Governor Atiku Bagudu, stated this in a virtual address to the opening session at the Flag-Off of the program, in Birnin Kebbi.
Governor Bagudu, expressed hope that the youths and women would be supported financially through the scheme.
Secretary to the State Government, Babale Yauri, pointed out that Kebbi State has become a hub for export business, especially in agricultural produce as a result of sharing borders with Republic of Niger and Benin.
He commended the Federal Government for removing barriers hindering foreign trade, saying, Kebbi State has multiple opportunities on export, especially agricultural and agro-allied products.
The Managing Director of Nigerian Export-Import Bank, Malam Abba Bello, said there are numerous services and programs offered by the bank to support the Women and Youths financially.
Under WAYEF, the bank has made N10billion available to support women and youth to engage in export business.
