President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed outrage and disgust over what he called “the heinous murder of Adamawa politician Ahmed Gulak in Owerri, Imo State by yet to be identified gunmen.
In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu pointed out that the President said he is repulsed by such premeditated and gruesome murder of Gulak by people who are determined to undermine the peace, unity and territorial integrity of the country.
He warn that nobody or group of people who engages in such despicable acts should expect to go free.
The President noted that all available resources will be deployed to ensure that such callous and criminal elements are brought to justice.
President Buhari expressed his “deep condolences to the family of the deceased, the people and government of Adamawa State as well as his friends and associates all over the country.
Similarly, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, expressed deep shock over the killing of Ahmed Gulak, an APC chieftain and an indigene of Adamawa State on Saturday while on his way to Chief Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, Imo State.
He described the killing of Gulak as barbaric and unwarranted.
The SGF called for urgent investigation by appropriate security agency to unravel the motive of such gruesome murder.
Mr Mustapha expressed condolences to the APC family, the government and people of Adamawa State, his family and prays to God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.
