The Supreme Court on Friday has dismissed the certificate forgery suit filed against Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
Delivering the judgment, a five-man panel of the apex court dismissed the suit for lack of merit.
It was filed against Governor Obaseki, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The September 19, 2020, governorship election, in Edo State which returned Mr Obaseki of the PDP as governor of the State was challenged in court.
In its ruling, the supreme court held that Mr Obaseki’s certificates with which he contested the 2020 governorship election was not forged.
The court dismissed the appeal filed by the Action Democratic Party, ADP and its candidate due to lack of merit.
