Kaduna State Police Command has arrested four suspects for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and culpable homicide.
This was disclosed to newsmen by the Command’s Spokesperson ASP Mohammed Jalige on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, Umar Musa Muri.
ASP Mohammed Jalige explained that the arrest was sequel to a complaint laid before the Commissioner of Police by one Alhaji Kabiru Magayaki who reported that his 6-year-old son was abducted, and the
abductors demanded the sum of Thirty million naira as ransom.
He however emphasised that after series of negotiations between the family of the child and the abductors, they arrived at the conclusion to pay the sum of One million naira.
ASP Mohammed Jalige maintained that a full scale investigation by the Special Investigation Bureau whose operatives swung into action and arrested four suspects; Sani Adamu, Umar Mainasara, Muhammadu Nazifi and Amina Ahmed.
According to the Spokesperson, Muhammadu Nazifi, who is a neighbour to the deceased lured the innocent child to a location where Sani Adamu was already on ground awaiting to kidnap him to an unknown destination.
Consequently, on sensing the possiblity of the victim revealing his identity after regaining freedom, Muhammadu Nazifi strangled the child to death and concealed his body in a drain in the outskirts of Kano State.
ASP Jalige pointed out that the arrest equally led to the recovery of the sum of Eight Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira being part of the ransom the suspects collected at a location in Zaria.
