Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni wants the people of the state to continue praying for lasting peace and improved security in the North East, devastated by insurgency.
Governor Buni made the appeal during fundraising for the construction of a befitting Juma’at mosque for the Pataskum Emirate of Yobe state.
The Governor who reminded people of the devastating security situation before the coming of the Buhari administration explained that gathering of this magnitude wouldn’t have been possible then where major cities were deserted crippling both social and economic activities hence the need for continued prayers as a mark of appreciation for improved security.
The governor also appealed to the people to give back to society from their God-given wealth and donate generously towards the Patskum mosque project.
The event was attended by the Senate President Ahmed Lawan, State minister for works Abubakar Aliyu who happens to be an illustrious son of the Pataskum emirate, Royal fathers from neighbouring states of Bauchi, Borno and Gombe among others.
Over four hundred million naira was realised at the fundraising with the highest donation of fifty million naira each by the chief launcher Auwal Abdullahi the Sarkin Sudan of Gombe and the Yobe state government.
