Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police Force says it has foiled a kidnap attempt of fifteen passengers of two vehicles by suspected bandits in large numbers, welding dangerous weapons along Buruku-Birnin Gwari Road.
In a statement made available to newsmen by the Command’s Spokesperson ASP Mohammed Jalige in Kaduna explained that swift response by operatives of the command forced the marauding bandits to flee into the forest with bullet wounds abandoning their victims.
It maintained that the drivers of the two vehicles sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment, while the remaining victims have been profiled and re-united with their families.
It added that rigorous patrol and manhunt of the fleeing bandits is of topmost priority to the command.
In another development, the command received an intelligence report through the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Kasuwan Magani, stating that some suspected bandits were sighted around Dutsin Gaya village of Kajuru LGA, moving large herds of cattle suspected to have been rustled.
The Command, on receiving the information, mobilised operatives to the area, engaged the bandits in a gun battle, which forced the bandits to take to their heels with bullet wounds, while the operatives recovered thirty-two rustled cows.
