Clerics move to curb rising food prices

Northern Muslim and Christian clerics say they will visit market unions in the region on the need to cut-down prices of food stuff, especially as Ramadan, a dusk till dawn fasting observed by Muslims, approaches.

The team lead and founder of an NGO, Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation of Nigeria, Pastor Yohanna Buru disclosed this to newsmen in Kaduna.

He harped on the importance of the holy month and the need for marketers to not take advantage of the period to double the prices of food.

NGO will be sharing food stuffs to the less privileged Muslims, Internally Displaced People and others who lost their jobs as a result of bandit attacks and the COVID-19 pandemic among others in the region, Pastor Buru disclosed.
