Kaduna State Governor Nasiru Elrufai says bandits have lost their right to life under the nation’s constitution and must be wiped out everywhere they are.
He stated this during a town hall meeting organised by the federal Ministry of Information and Culture held in Kaduna.
Governor Elrufai said the nation’s security forces must collaborate to take a war on the bandits and the terrorists with a view to recover and restore the ungoverned forest the terrorists occupied.
This accoring to him, would enable law abiding citizens to engage in my farming and livestock production without fear.
He said the situation in which the security agencies mostly react to cases of banditry and abduction is unacceptable.
Malam Nasiru Elrufai advocated for the recruitment of more security personnel as well as the federal government to provide them with all the needed working equipment to confront any security threat.
According to him, to address the Banditry problem in the North West and North Central, the government must implement the National Livestock Transformation Plan already produced four years ago to enable accelerate investment in modern animal husbandry.
“We must provide funding to acquire advance equipment for armed forces, police and paramilitary agencies”
Malam Nasiru Elrufai stressed the need for the nation to have a decentralized judiciary and policing, also called for the creation of state police due to the lack of enough security agencies in the country.
He expressed hope that the participants and stakeholders of the town hall meeting would proffer more effective solutions to secure the country and its people.
