Abia State Governor, Okezie lkpeazu has launched the 30years Abia State Long Term Development Plan.
The long term development plan is expected to last from 2020-2050.
Speaking during the launch in Umuahia, Governor Ikpeazu said that the program would offer a blue print to sustainable economic growth and development in governance for many years to come.
Governor lkpeazu represented by the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Okochukwu noted that if the development plan which his administration has already keyed into is seriously followed and sustained by subsequent administrations, the state would be a centre of attraction.
He lauded the State Planning Commission for collaborating with the Partnership Initiatives In Niger Delta (PIND) and other development agencies for ensuring the successful take off of the program in the state.
Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chris Ezem described the launch of the Abia State Long Term Development Plan as a milestone achievement and commended all that made the program a reality.
In an address, the Permanent Secretary Abia State Planning Commission, Dr Nnenna Chikezie said that the aim of the 30years perspective plan was to promote a sustainable and stable development of Abia State as well as to improve the living conditions of the people.
