The people of Ogbogoro community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have called on the State and Federal governments to address the shore erosion ravaging the town.
Traditional ruler of the community, King Godwin Igodo told newsmen during the visit of a construction company to the area for feasibility studies.
He noted that successive administrations both at the Federal and State levels have made countless promises without matching it with action.
King Godwin Igodo explained that the menace has been in existence for over one hundred years while over sixty public, private buildings and farm land have been wiped away.
He pleaded with the government to immediately begin work in the area before the rainy season to alleviate the sufferings of the people
Bayelsa State Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mr Esau Andrew called on the Federal Government to releases ecological funds meant for the state to enable it embark on the projects.
