The International Wing of the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) has been opened for an international flight.
The airport was shut down in March 2020 to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
It was closedown alongside Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu; and the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
The Regional General Manager, Gambo Abdullahi, says, partial operations will test-run efficiency at the facility.
Speaking during the commencement of operations, representative of the Kano State Government, the Deputy Director Of Covid-19 Rapid Response Team, Dr Sabitu Shanono, said Government would do everything possible in ensuring that safety protocols were strictly followed.
Dr Shanono who witnessed the arrival and departure of some flights commended the federal government for the reopening.
Ethiopia Airlines departed with over 100 passengers, Tuesday afternoon.
