Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje
Kano state government says it has slashed March salaries of political appointees by 50 per cent due to dwindling resources.
Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba said in a statement that the decision affected the governor, deputy governor, commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants.
He said the action was due to a shortfall in revenue accruing to the state from the federation account.
Muhammad Garba said at the local government level, the salary slash also affected the chairmen, vice-chairmen, elected and supervisory councillors, advisers and secretaries of councils.
