President Buhari receives Letters of Credence from 6 Ambassadors

President Muhammadu Buhari has called on the international community to further collaborate in tackling some of the major threats across the globe.

President Buhari listed such threats as terrorism, insurgence, displacement of persons, and climate change, which pose great challenges to human existence.

He was speaking in Abuja, while receiving Letters of Credence from 6 Ambassadors deployed to Nigeria.

President Buhari urged them to work towards building stronger relations, with focus on providing joint solutions to rising human and environmental challenges.

President Buhari told the envoys that Covid-19 pandemic had remained humanity’s greatest threat, as it does not only affect public health, but also has a devastating effect on people’s economy and livelihood.

He assured the new Ambassadors that Nigeria had been enjoying satisfactory bilateral relations with each of their countries, and urged them to enhance it for the joint benefit of citizens.

The President noted that peace was priceless, desirable and crucial to sustainable development and achieving the targets set by the UN global initiatives.

Speaking on behalf of the diplomats, High Commissioner of The Gambia, Mr. Mohammadou Musa Njie, gave the assurance that they would work to improve relations between their countries and Nigeria.

The Ambassadors are from The Gambia, South Korea, Slovak, Australia, Bangladesh, and Guinea Bissauo.
