Eight clubs that made it to the Anambra Football Super 8 tournament finals draw on Wednesday in Awka, the State capital, have declared themselves battle-ready.

The competition is scheduled to kick-off at the Chuba Ikpeazu Mini Stadium, Onitsha on March 29.

A member of Anambra Football State Football Association (AnSFA) and Chairman of the Super 8 Organising Committee Prince Oliver Ndigwe said four teams would qualify for the semi-finals and finals of the tournament.

He said eight players were unveiled after a draw, to help strengthen the teams through transfers.

They are those who did well during the playoffs, in which 27 grassroots football clubs were drawn from the three senatorial zones.

The brand manager of Aspire FC Adazi Ani, Chidimma Ezeasor said the tournament was well-articulated to drive football, develop talents, build confidence in youths as well as raise hope for the younger ones who are aspiring to be professional players.

She said cash prizes await teams including a Nationwide Division Two slot for the winner.

Group matches would be played in Onitsha while the grand finale would be at the NEROS stadium, Nanka on April 3.
