Parliamentary workers threaten shutdown of NASS, houses of assembly

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN have threatened to shut down the National and State Houses of Assembly over non implementation of financial autonomy for the parliamentary arm of government

Addressing newsmen during a protest to the National Assembly in Abuja, the National President of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria Comrade Usman Mohammed said workers are asking for the full implementation of financial autonomy for all State Houses of Assembly

National President of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN Comrade Usman Mohammed during journalists during the peaceful protest in Abuja.

Comrade Mohammed PASAN has given the federal Government and Nigerian Governors forum six days ultimatum to implement their demand or face a total shutdown of the National and State Houses of Assembly.

Comrade Mohammed said PASAN members have been patient for years without the implementation of financial autonomy for state houses of Assembly

He expressed dismay at the action of state governors armed at frustrating the implementation of financial autonomy for the State Houses of Assembly

He urged the Presidential Implementation Committee on financial autonomy for state Judiciary and Legislature to do the needful to preserve the sanctity of the constitution of the country.
