Muslims tasked on tenets of Islam while conducting marriages

The Chairman Bida Local Government Council, Niger state, Alhaji Suleiman Sheshi has advocated the sponsorship of a private bill to address various limitations in the institution of marriage.

He stated this at a Seminar on marriage organized by the Bida Muslim Ummah.

The Chairman who was represented by his Vice, Malam Abubakar Musa said there was a need to address certain man-made conditions associated with modern wedlock.

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, represented by the Mayaki Nupe, Alhaji Aliyu Yahaya Mayaki enjoined authorities of the local government to come up with a bye-law to curb social vices currently bedevilling Communities in the country.

The Etsu Nupe warned mothers to desist from making unnecessary extravagant demands from those seeking their daughter’s hand in marriage.

The Chief Imam of Bida Sheikh Adamu Yakatun represented by Malam Ndako Mohammed emphasized the need for mutual respect among couples to strengthen their matrimonial homes.

Other Islamic Scholars at the event including Doctor Ahmed Shehu Ndazabo, Sheikh Abubakar Mustapha and Mallam Adam Aliyu called on faithful to follow the tenets of Islam while conducting Marriages.

They admonished parents to chose proper conduct over material wealth while seeking partners for their wards.
