The Federal Executive Council has approved the award of over N2b contract for the design, development, deployment, and management of the National Social Investment Management System for the National
Social Investment Programme.
Shedding light on the approval, the Minister, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajia Sadiya Umar, said the system would be used to facilitate the implementation of N-Power, N-SIP, National Cash
Transfer, and the National Home-Grown School Feeding programmes.
She said the N-Power programme would be the first to start with, after which the other clusters of the National Social Investment Programme would systematically key into the platform.
FEC also gave approval to the Ministry of Environment to commit over N6b to the provision of potable water to Gokana, Khana, Eleme and Tai Local Government Areas in Ogoniland, Rivers State.
The Minister, Dr. Mahmud Muhammad, said work on the projects would start immediately.
He explained that some of the projects would be linked to the River state Government’s water supply system.
