Federal Medical Center, Gusau has inaugurated an Upgraded, 10 Bedded Intensive Care Unit and Echocardiography Center to improve health care delivery in the state and other neighboring States.
Medical Director of the FMC Gusau, Dr. Bello Muhammad Kwatarkwashi who commissioned the ICU and ECC said the project was executed from the federal government’s COVID-19 relief fund 2020.
The modernized ICU was equipped with 10 motorized Beds; 10 Ventilators; 10 monitors; 10 infusion pumps; 2 Deprivilators; Autoclave Sterilizer as well a Gas Analyzing machine among other modern equipment.
The Echocardiography center was also equipped with a Defibrillator; CPAP Ventilator for COVID-19 patients; Radiant Warmer; Oxygen Concentrator among others.
In a goodwill message, Leadership of the various Unions in the Medical Center has commended the Medical Director for his determination to move the center forward and therefore pledged to support him.
On his part, Dr. Sunday Onazi, Chairman Medical Advisory Committee, CMAC, said federal Medical Center Gusau is wearing a new look, moving to rob shoulder with its counterparts worldwide.
In a remark, the immediate past Medical Director of the institution, Dr. Kabir Anka who witnessed the commissioning of the project expressed optimism that, the FMC will excel with the current MD.
