Kebbi State Government has expended about 57billion naira for the construction and rehabilitation of roads across the state in the last 7 years
These projects covered a total length of about 890 kilometers.
In a news briefing, the State Commissioner for Works, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan, said the projects covered both construction of new raods, rehabilitation of old ones as well as hydraulic structures that include culverts, drainages and bridges.
According to Ladan, some were completed while some are ungoing.
The Commissioner who expressed displeasure over a publication in a National Daily that quoted the wrong figure spent however, appealed to journalists to always confirm their information from appropriate authorities before going to press.
He applauded the effort of working journalists in the state for their support towards disseminating information and promoting peace.
He said that, the Kebbi State Government has provided infrastructure to various communities in the state, saying more of dividend of democracy is on the way.
