Pantami tasks telcos on customer’s rights

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its plan to create an enabling environment for investments and businesses to thrive.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Ibrahim Pantami stated this while receiving in his office, the leadership of a prominent Mobile Network Operator group (MNO) led by its Chairman, Ernest Ndukwe.

The Minister urged the telecom service provider to reciprocate Governments’ gesture of encouraging businesses growth by abiding by the principles of “the customer is king” as this was paramount.

He called on the telecom operators to abide by the guidelines of the federal government on protecting the rights of customers.

Dr Pantami also commended the group for giving due considerations to indigenous manpower which has led to the emergence of a Nigerian as Managing Director while also applauding and encouraging its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.

In his response, the Managing Director of the MNO, Mr Karl Toriola assured the federal government of its collaboration to further advance the digital economy plan for the country.
