The Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen has reiterated her commitment to stand up to the challenges facing women and children in the country.
She made this known in Abuja at event organised by the staff and management of the ministry to celebrate her resumption of office after recovering from COVID-19 and in commemoration of her birthday.
The Minister, who relayed her experience while in isolation, appreciated president Mohammadu Buhari, the staff and management of the ministry for their concern and prayers.
“while I was in the isolation center, my prayer everyday was that may God restore peace and bring an end to all the insurgency and all the challenges we are having, because women and children are the worst affected” she said
Dame Pauline Tallen further advised Nigerians to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from the second wave of the pandemic stressing that COVID-19 was real.
The Director General of the National Center for Women Development, Mrs. Mary Ekepere-Eta described the minister as a personality worthy of emulation and a role model for young girls in Nigeria.
The event also had in attendance the Chairperson House committee of women Affairs, Mr. Adewunmi Onanuga.
