The Nigeria Association of women Journalists (NAWOJ) commends President Muhammadu Buhari on the appointment of new set of service chiefs.
In a statement on Wednesday in Abuja, President of the association, Ladi Bala, expresses hope that the development is a move towards a total overhaul of the nation’s security architecture.
The Association advises the federal government to provide logistics and weaponry, as well as enhanced welfare to boost the morale of personnel in the fight against insurgency, armed banditry, kidnappings and other related criminal activities.
NAWOJ tasked the new service chiefs to bear in mind the expectations of Nigerians, and thus live above board.
The newsmen pointed out that was sad and unhealthy that women continue to be at the center of all security crisis in Nigeria.
“Women are the worse hit, a situation that requires urgent attention that needs to be addressed…no nation can develop when the destiny of more than half of its population made up of women and children is under severe threat.
NAWOJ appealed to Nigerians to cooperate and support the new service chiefs and other security agencies towards winning the war against insecurity.
