The National Directorate of Employment NDE has recruited 880 youths Trainees under the vocational Development Department VSD , in Kano state.
The Acting Director General of the Agency Abubakar Nuhu Fiko during the Orientation ceremony for the 880 Trainees said the move was aimed at acquainting the trainees on the activities of the vocational Development skills department.
Abubakar Nuhu Fiko, represented by the chief vocational Development officer Alhaji Shitu Mohammad Abdullahi said they concentrate mostly on Domestic skills to enable the trainees be self reliant immediately after their graduation.
The Acting Director General maintained that the training which is for the duration of three months said each participant would be given stipends of two thousand naira monthly, saying the skills they would be trained on includes Barbing, Tailoring, Hair dressing , knitting among others.
In his Remarks the NDE coordinator in Kano Alhaji Ilyasu Ahmad urged the trainees to make Maximum utilization of the Opportunity aimed at achieving the set objectives.
Maryam Muhammad and Umar Usman were among the trainees, they applauded the commitment of the federal Government for initiating the program, geared towards making them to become self reliant.
