The National Law Drug Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, is to be overhauled in link with the report of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Elimination of Drug Abuse, for effective performance
The New Chairman of the Agency, Retired Brigadier-General Buba Marwa, stated this in Abuja when he formally assumed duty as the Chief Executive of the organization
General Marwa said as the Lead Agency in the Drug War in the Country and given the devastation that drug use had caused the Nation, the NDLEA must stop all unacceptable drug abuse across the nation
He said drug use had eaten very deep into the social fabric of every community in the country and urged the management and staff of the Agency to work in close collaboration with him to reposition the NDLEA to full active life for the benefit of the citizens.
General Marwa said his vision for the Agency was to make it effective, respected and feared by the concerned criminals engaging in the illicit drug business.
The new NDLEA, Chairman assured the staff of the Agency that their welfare would be accorded utmost priority.
