Pastor Adeboye who read from 1st Thessalonians 5:18, said it was important to always praise God for His blessings and mercies.
He ministered at the event virtually, prayed for God’s blessing and that 2021 would be a joyful year.
“I pray that God will bless you fearfully, bless you with miracles, signs and wonders that will cause the world to say how great is your God; the Almighty God will fill your mouth with laughter this year, this will be a year of rejoicing, a year of singing, a year of dancing for all of you” Pastor Adeboye prayed.
Prayers for the peace and prosperity of the country, were offered by other men of God present at the event
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said it was imperative to give thanks to God as Lagos has emerged stronger in spite of all the challenges of 2020.
”As a State, we have gone through a very difficult year, battled a pandemic, some of us lost our loved ones, lost some of our historic buildings and monuments, deprived of enormous economic opportunity, but we have come out alive and inspired to face the future with faith and positive expectations” Sanwo-Olu said.
