Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma has signed the over N346bn appropriation bill into law for the 2021 financial year.
Performing the ceremony at the government house Owerri, the Governor said the budget which was christened “Budget of Wealth creation” was aimed at addressing poverty, unemployment and infrastructural decay in the state.
Governor Uzodimma commended the State legislature for giving the bill accelerated passage promised to ensure full implementation of the budget.
Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Paul Emeziem expressed the optimism the budget would put smiles on the faces of the people who yearn for good governance.
The budget which was presented to the parliament on Wednesday last week had a capital expenditure of N271.5bn representing 78% of the budget while recurrent had 74.6bn representing 21.6% of the “Budget of Wealth creation”.
