Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress in Kebbi state to embarked on an industrial action if the state government fails to implement agreement.
At a joint press briefing in Birnin Kebbi, the State Chairman of the organized labour, Comrade Umar Alhassan, expressed dismay over the state government’s nonchalant attitude over welfare of civil servants.
The government deliberately frustrated the unions from reaching a conclusion with a committee on Consequential Adjustment on new Minimum Wage.
“Agreement was reached between labour and the state government since February this year but not even a single one was attained”.
The agreements were non nonpayment of balance of gratuity to some retirees, non remittance of teachers deductions of Pension contributions to their Pension Funds Administration, non payment of 2019 and 2020 leave grant to civil servants as well as non implementation of annual increment.
