Police restrict movement in Zamfara over Saturday’s bye-election

Police in Zamfara has ordered a restriction of movement from midnight to 6pm of Saturday for Bakura state constituency bye-election.

The police spokesman, SP Shehu Muhammad said in a statement on Friday that only essential workers and those on election duties are exempted.

The statement said, the command has deployed 2,300 personnel and other security agents to the 114 polling units and 9 voting point.

He warned that no aide was allowed to escort their principals to the polling units or any movement while the election was ongoing, adding that defaulters would be arrested.
