The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved the revision of cost on extension of time for consultancy services for Tada-Shonga Irrigation Project in Kwara State.
The Minister of Water Resources, Alhaji Sulaiman Adamu, stated this while briefing State House correspondents on the memoranda he presented at FEC meeting.
He explained that the consultancy services had been given additional 24 months and 12 months defect liability period with a revised cost of over 200 million Naira.
FEC has also approved the award of contract of over for a dedicated power line for Middle Ogun Irrigation Project Phase in Inshiyin, Oyo State.
He explained that the initial coverage of the irrigation was about 3,000 hectares, and that currently, about 1,300 hectares had been finished but could be utilised due to lack of power.
Last week, FEC approved a contract for the provision of solar power system for Sabke Irrigation Project in Katsina State to boost dry-season farming.
