Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II at his Ile Oodua Palace, Ile-Ife.
The Emir commended Ooni Ogunwusi for providing great leadership across Yoruba race and Nigeria.
He said a new channel for deepening cultural understanding between Yoruba people and their counterparts in the northern part of the country would be further created towards enhancing national unity and development.
Emir Ado Bayero suggested an exchange of ideas on ways to tackle illiteracy, unemployment and social development amongst youths.
Relationships among traditional rulers
The Ooni called for the sustenance of cordial relationships among traditional rulers in Nigeria, which he noted had promoted peaceful co existence of the country.
He admonished traditional rulers to prioritize youth development and capacity building, which he said was the guarantor of a prosperous future.
The Monarch said youth development could be undertaken by traditional rulers and influential individual in there domain without requiring government support or intervention.
