Slain APC Chairman in Nasarawa State, Chief Philip Shekwo who was murdered by suspected kidnappers at his residence in Lafia the state capital has been buried in his country home Yelwa, Toto Local Government Area amidst protest by youths in the area.
The youths came out as early as 7am, marched on the Keffi Toto road as the corpse arrived Yelwa from Federal Medical Centre Keffi.
The protesting youths were displaying placards with inscriptions such as ” when will these killings end?” “Enough of the bloodshed,” “we want killers of our leader fished out immediately” among others.
Governor Abdullahi Sule represented by Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe while addressing the large crowd of sympathizers said the state government will not rest on until killers of the APC Chieftain were fished out and made to face Justice.
Wife of the late APC Chairman, Mrs Grace Philip recalled how her husband was forcefully abducted and gruesomely killed.
In a sermon, President Benue Nasarawa Baptist Convention, Reverend Bulus Ali described the kidnap and murder of Chief Philip Shekwo as a wake up call for Government at all levels to redouble their efforts towards addressing insecurity in the country.
