President Muhammadu Buhari presides over Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja.
The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved Nigeria’s ratification of the membership agreement of the African Continental Free Trade Area.
Briefing State House correspondents on the development, the Minister of Information and Culture, who stood in for the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr Niyi Adebayo, said the aim was to meet the December 5th deadline for membership ratification of the agreement.
The Minister of Information and Culture, who also stood in for the Minister of Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika, said FEC had approved about 500 million Naira contract for the procurement, installation, and commissioning of a fully dimensional aerodrome and approach simulator at the Lagos Airport.
He explained that the contract had become necessary to ensure safety, in view of the increase in the number of personnel recruited and trained as air traffic controllers.
