The National Assembly says the government is committed to address all the issues raised during the End SARS protest especially on unemployment.
President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, stated this during the 2021 budget performance and defence of the Ministry of Agriculture, at the National Assembly.
The Senate President gave the assurance that government would do everything possible to implement the 2021 budget in such a way it provide massive job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
In a remark, Chairman, Joint Committee on Agriculture, Abdullahi Adamu said that for Nigeria to fully diversify and stop the over dependence on crude, 10% of the annual budget must be appropriated to the agricultural sector.
He said the budget estimates of ₦179.4 billion which is grossly inadequate, represents only 2% of the ₦13 trillion earmarked for the 2021 Appropriation Bill.
In his presentation, Minister of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono, told the committee that despite the natural disaster and other obstacles, the sector recorded tremendous growth compared to other sectors of the economy.
