The Senate Committee on Army has called for the collaboration of the four states of Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara in the North West and Niger Republic towards combating banditry activities.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndumi, made the appeal while on a courtesy visit to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State.
The Committee, while on a fact finding mission, said out of the four states being hit by banditry activities, Kebbi State is the less affected.
He commended the State Governor for the proactive measures being taken in tackling the activities of bandits in the state.
Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, lauded the effort of the Senate Committee on Army in seeing that security is effective in the country.
The Governor commended security agencies in their effort of promoting peace in the country, despite events of recent weeks in the country that affected their moral.
He revealed that, the state government has been supporting the families of soldiers in the state.
