The management of the NYSC has confirmed it readiness to reopen orientation camps Nation wide following compulsory closure of the camps earlier in the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Director general of the scheme brigadier general Ibrahim Shuaibu confirmed this to newsmen at the NYSC 2020 batch B pre-orientation workshop held in Jos plateau state.
The workshop aimed to enable top officials of the scheme to meet with a view of evaluating COVID 19 safety protocols for the successful conduct of the forthcoming 2020 batch B exercise amidst the COVID 19 pandemic.
D.G of the scheme brigadier general Ibrahim Shuaibu revealed amid other measures taken to ensure seamless exercise, the scheme has interfaced effectively with the NCDC and PTF.
He further disclosed that the corp members whose orientation camp was suspended due to the pandemic earlier in the year would be joining the orientation camps
Declaring the workshop open was the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong who pledged to work closely with the scheme in the State in ensuring the safety of staff and corps members from COVID 19.
He appealed to all concern to observe COVID19 safety guidelines as the fight against the virus is ongoing
Plateau state coordinator of the scheme Caroline Embu appreciated the DG of the scheme, Plateau state governor and all collaborative agencies for their continues support to the scheme.
The NYSC Batch B pre orientation workshop which began on Tuesday 3rd November in Jos has in attendance all directors,camp commandants state coordinators among others from all over the federation.
The theme of the workshop is “evolving a dynamic operational strategy in the management of camps in the context of Covid 19”
