The Managing Director of the Lekki Concession Company, Mr Abayomi Omomuwasan, on Tuesday handed over the video footage of the surveillance camera of the lekki tollgate, where EndSARS protestors were shot at by yet to be identified men in army fatigue, to the Lagos panel of inquiry on police brutality.
He submitted the footage when he appeared before the panel set up by the state government to critically look into the allegations of brutality, especially at.it relates to the now disbanned Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) officers.
Mr Omomuwasan, told the panel that the surveillance cameras had stopped recording at about 8:00 in the evening and that most of the staff had to leave for fear of attack.
Explaining why the camera stopped working, Omomuwa said, “The major cause is because of network. I can confirm categorically we never, ever, tampered with the surveillance camera. That is why we can get the footage, he said.
The panel had last week paid an unscheduled visit to the toll gate.
