Members of Katsina state House of Assembly have unanimously commended President Muhammadu Buhari, for his handling of the #EndSARS protests.
The lawmakers also resolved to call on the state Government to commend youths in the state for their orderly conduct during the protests.
The resolution was passed after the lawmakers adopted a motion sponsored by the house leader Abubakar Suleiman, representing Rimi constituency.
Leading the debate, the leader appreciated the high sense of statesmanship exhibited by President Buhari in the aftermath of the demonstrations.
Abubakar Suleiman maintained that as president and commander in chief, had all options available on the table, but chose dialogue in place of a crackdown.
On the conduct of the state youths, the house leader pointed out that they were exceptional in maintaining decorum as well as law and order despite the protests being hijacked by hoodlums in many States.
The speaker Tasiu Musa Maigari who presided over the plenary directed the clerk to send a commendation letter to the president, and communicate the resolution with the Executive arm for implementation.
