NNPC denies report of fuel scarcity

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has cautioned Nigerians against panic buying of petrol as the emergence of queues at petrol stations was due to curfew imposed on some states following violence that trailed the EndSARS protest.

The governors of Lagos, Plateau, Kaduna, Kwara, Cross River, Edo, Osun, Rivers, Ekiti, Anambra imposed curfews to calm tensions after public and private property were looted and vandalised.

The group general manager of NNPC public affairs division, Kennie Obateru, told NAN on Monday that normalcy woild soon be restored in the supply of petroleum products.

The curfews, he said, affected the free movement of vehicles for the supply of the products but assured of normalcy in a couple of days.
