Normalcy is gradually returning to Akure, the capital of Ondo State after President Muhammadu Buhari’s address to the nation as youth and political leaders cleared roadblocks, sticks and bonfires on major roads.

Roads were deserted for four days due to a violence that trailed the EndSARS protest, leading to an imposition of curfew.

At road block junction which happened to be one of the hot spots for the protest in Akure, people were now going about their normal activities unhindered inspite of the curfew.

Vehicular movement was coming up gradually at the junction which linked Ilesa – Akure – Owo/Benin highway, a road that had been blocked since Monday this week.

Many were of the opinion that the President’s address was one of the reasons that calmed the situation.
