The Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers has called for calm and dialogue to stem the tide of the ongoing EndSARS demonstrations which have turned violent in some places.
A statement signed on behalf of the traditional rulers by its Chairman Ambassador Lawrence Agubuzu said.
The traditional rulers appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to facilitate dialogue, following his statement that the voice of the youths had been heard “loud and clear”.
The traditional rulers expressed strong support for the manner the Enugu State Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, was handling the protest and appealed to the youths to eschew violence.
The royal fathers commended the setting up of a judicial Panel of Inquiry to look into grievances of the youths.
