Media briefing by representatives of Chief of Army Staff Major General Nuhu Angbazo during the launch of Exercise Crocodile Smile VI at Special Army Super Camp 1 Ngamdu Borno state.
The Nigerian Army says it has concluded plans to start Exercise Crocodile Smile to rid the country of emerging security challenges.
Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai stated this at a media briefing at special Army Super Camp 1 Ngamdu, Borno state.
The Army Chief represented by the Chief of Training and Operations Major General Nuhu Angbazo said the exercise is scheduled to commence from 20th October to 31st December, 2020.
He explained that Exercise Crocodile smile six will also include cyber warfare exercises designed to identify, track and counter negative propaganda in the social media and across the cyberspace.
General Buratai assured that the exercise will improve public safety and security for end of the year festivity.
According to him, Crocodile Smile six will also include civil-military component such as sanitation exercises, medical outreach, support to the aged and the disabled as well as humanitarian assistance to widows of the fallen heroes.
The Chief of Army Staff called for the support and understanding of the public throughout the period of the exercise.
