President Muhammadu Buhari’s led-administration is committed to eradicating poverty and uphold International principles of protecting vulnerable persons.
The Minster of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouq stated this in Barwa Community of the Federal Capital Territory, in Commemoration of this year International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
Represented by the Director Humanitarian Alhaji Ali Grema, Hajiya Sadiya reiterated the Ministry’s resolve to work with relevant stakeholders and Agencies under her supervision to ensure the realization of Mr. President’s vision of lifting 100 Million Nigerians out of Poverty in 10years.
”One of the Government’s primary responsibility is to assist and protect all person in an equal manner. It is also pertinent to emphasize that the issue of Poverty eradication has emerged as a significant concern for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari”.
The Head of Barwa Community, Sunday Kogi thanked the Ministry for the construction of a health Centre through its Community and Social Development Project last year and for the follow up of its progress.
“Since your first visit on October on October 17, 2019, we witnessed the construction of a bore hole in Barwa community and the building of a Health Centre. On behalf of the people of Barwa community, we say thank you”.
The community Head, appealed to the Federal Government to help fence the Health Centre and construct an accessible road for the community.
There was symbolic hand washing campaign and safety apparels were distributed.
