Governor Nasiru Elrufai of Kaduna State has received the report of a peace summit on the de-escalation of killings in Southern Kaduna.
He commended the Southern Kaduna Joint Peace Committee for investing time and resources to bring peace to the area.
He said the state was enjoying relative peace and southern Kaduna was ‘quiet and peaceful’.
Many of the people that comments and contribute to the escalation of the southern Kaduna problems are not living in the state he said and assured members of the committee that, the government would study the report and implement all recommendations.
After studying the report, government would established a joint implementation committee for full implementation, he added.
Executive Secretary, Christian Pilgrims Commission, Reverend Yakubu Pam who is also Chairman of the Committee said, people of southern Kaduna are committed to peace.
Stop blame game
Reverend Pam noted that part of the recommendations of the report was that, federal and state government should provide Economic empowerment in the area to alleviate poverty.
“Key among the recommendations is the called for all leaders at the local, state and the National level to stop the blame game.
The Agwatyap, Dominic Yahaya and several community leaders of Southern Kaduna were part of the people at the Government House to present the report to the governor.
