Sen Sàràkí Advocates standardization of Motorcycle Riders Association

The Federal Government wants the support of key players in the transport sector in the bid to enhance the sector’s viability.

Minister of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki made the submission in Abuja when she hosted the National President, Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle, Owners, Repairs, and Riders Association of Nigeria ACOMORAN, Alhaji Samsudeen Apelogun in Abuja in her office.

Senator Saraki who maintained that all hands must be on deck to promote standard practice among transport operators promised that ACOMORAN would be considered by the Ministry for disbursement of palliatives meant for the Transport sector.

Earlier, The National President of ACOMORAN, Alhaji Apelogun had called on the Federal Government to consider standardising the operations of commercial motorcycle in the country rather than scrapping the means of livelihood of many households.

Alhaji Apelogun who suggested provision of designated lanes for motorcycle riders also appealed to the federal government to provide soft loans for the members to enable them to acquire new motorcycles to phase out rickety machines from circulation.
