The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSEIC has scheduled the 16th of January 2020 for the conduct of the local government council election in the 44 local government areas of the state.
The Chairman of the Commission, Professor Garba Sheka stated this while briefing journalists in Kano.
He said the polls would be for Councilors and Chairmen of the 44 local government areas.
Professor Sheka noted that the activities of the election would begin with notice of the polls and campaign activities by the political parties on Monday, 12th of October 2020.
The chairman maintained that the commission would conduct sensitization across the 44 local government areas to mobilize the electorate for participation in the election.
He noted that over Forty-Seven thousand Adhoc staff would be employed, while security strategies would be enhanced during the election.
Professor Sheka reassured the commitment of the commission towards conducting free, fair and credible election.
