Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, says Nigerians have every reason to celebrate the nation’s 60th Independence Anniversary.
Gov. Masari affirmed this message of hope in a statement signed by his spokesman, Malam Abdu Labaran, to felicitate with Nigerians on the occasion.
The statement points out that 60 years is not a long period in the life of a nation, noting that most advanced democracies attained their level of development in a couple of centuries of nationhood.
The governor urged Nigerians to renew their patriotism and commitment to the collective task of nation-building irrespective of regional, religious, or ethnicity which has retarded the nation’s growth.
“I urge Nigerians to always allow national interest to take precedence over all other considerations and to be genuinely committed to the continued existence of the country as one indivisible entity”, the statement affirms.
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives also urged the people of Katsina State to uphold the legacy of excellence and patriotic service to the nation.
