A new campaign structure for national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, called Young Professionals for Tinubu (YPT) 2023, with membership across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been launched in Abuja.
This is the second time in three weeks that Tinubu’s political movement has been unveiled in Abuja.
On September 10, 2020, another pro-Tinubu group, BAT 23, was flagged-off in Abuja, ahead of 2023.
Speaking during the formal inauguration of the second movement on Saturday, in Abuja, the national coordinator of the group Mr Ahmed Muhammed Ibrahim said Tinubu has the required clout and experience to effectively provide the kind of change Nigerians are yearning for.
“President Muhammadu Buhari and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu are core progressives who kept personal benefit aside to rescue the country from the brink of collapse in 2015. So he knows what needs to be done to achieve a greater Nigeria.
“Tinubu is a neutral leader who has extended the hand of friendship to all regions of the country. He has what it takes to lead Nigeria towards prosperity.
“He has the skills to discover talent and the ability to consolidate on the achievements of President Muhammdu Bahari,” he said.
Ibrahim said Tinubu’s leadership qualities and a knack for development informed the group’s resolve to work for him, adding that they had already commenced mobilization of Nigerians to support his course.
Also speaking at the event, Secretary-General of the group Mr Ishaq Muhammad said, “Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu should be the natural successor to President Buhari as they played the lead role to ensure APC won at the federal level and in many states across the country.”
He called on APC bigwigs to close ranks and build a stronger party ahead of the 2023 general election.
